Just maybe if it stays this warm, near 40 we will be backing the boat into the river in 3 or 4 weeks.Headin to the main channel near the water intake, jiggin a black tube.I can almost feel that walleye take the jig.Come on warm weather.

Sounds great! This is the first time i've heard of black tubes for walleye though. What size tube? All i see used on the river are chartruse twistertails and shiners.

I believe the tubes would work in fact I know they do , but never tried first spring usually use plastic minniow's then switch to plastic worms, craws, hellgrimites and tubes.Find twisters work when thier hot, but so does anything.Have not used twisters or live bait, while jigging detroit, for 7 yrs and never use 2 rods, limits no problem just about any time . GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN P.S. Dave you runnin D&D lures if so what's your hours. THANKS

I hate to admit it but I use tubes a lot for fishing Bass. I know, I know, Bass - but hey - got a nice spot close to home - catch some good Michigan lunker LargeMouths its okay isn't it? Why do I feel somehow sub-standard metioning bucketmouths on this site?

Anyway, Don't texas rig a tube - I like Oldhams weedless - its got a little wire weedguard that does a good job keeping the gunk off your hook - your hooking percentage will go up - but your snagging percentage - well it wont go any lower than a texas rig but - Awwwww! you guys probably just use a ball head jig with the hook exposed right - thats the way I get jiggy after walley. Except a little secret ( no. 24 natural brown wyandotte worm and a mid to large minnie) for da walldogs... dont tell.
