Going out to Oahe this spring/summer for some 'eyes. What length rod is best suited for river fishing?

Oahe really isn't river fishing, as it's a huge resevoir. The rod length depends on what type of fishing you plan on doing. A 6'6 baitcaster would be good for pulling bottom bouncers or trolling cranks. A 6' spinning reel works well for jigging and can also function for rigging if you can only find the fish deep. Most of the time, I've used jigs and rigs on Oahe, so the 6' spinning would be my first option.

Primary presentation would be Jig & Minnow.
Question: Is there a current on Oahe?

A 6' - 6'6" medium spinning rod would be good for jigging. I do almost all my fishing on a river, hence the name, and I use a 6'3" M spinning rod
