My guess is, that it's because there are more circuits to choose from now, and different waters to be fished. It's all in a person's "needs, or wants", that will determine what events they fish this year. The MWC is still going to fill, or get pretty close to filling all the sites this year. Spring Valley is a given. It's always overflowing with teams that want to fish it. My partner and I are entering events individually this year, and I'm sure there are other teams doing the same.
The MWC is a great circuit to fish, and I'm looking forward to competing in it. The people are great, and there's a lot of fun to be had by all!

Good Luck to you this year!

Are you going to fish the Lake Erie MWC tournament Juls? I figure with all the friends you have made there you might want to fish that one. I will be there, gotta love them Erie HAWGS!

I second that Jules. The MWC is quite the well oiled machine. An awesome experience to say the least. Unbelievable is all I can say about it.

No, we are not going to fish that one. One of the reasons we entered individually was, so that we could choose to fish some other circuits too. I'm going to enter the co-angler side of the RCL for a chance at Lake Erie. I like the place and time of that event.

Just with the mention of some tournaments this year, I have been thinking about fishing the amature side of a "Big League" tournament for a few years, and I think I might finaly go in head first and fish one or two this summer. I would be fishing one in the Minnesota area. I have been told the RCL tournaments were amazing last year and the PWT and MWC continue to run.
My question is how should I start-Which circut is best suited foir a beginer or are they all as easy to pick up? What special equipment is needed if any? Im excited right know just at the though (and open water =)). Any helpfull tips or tricks would be great-If there is anything I dont want to do is to do it the wrong way. Thanks again, MarbleEye's

Perhaps one reason is that there are additional tournament sites.

For those going for the points with an eye towards the championship, all five tournaments were important. That meant getting into Spring Valley and the only way to be sure you got in was as an early bird.

Now with two other sites to choose from, getting into Spring Valley to ensure you get the points is not critical to getting five tournaments worth of points.

It's anybody's guess, but those concerned with points may be disappointed if they wait too long. The new sites are going to bring a fresh crop of anglers to the MWC which will spill over to other sites. There's a good chance several sites will fill and fill earlier than in the past.

Additionally, based on the recent Walleye Expo, a good number of anglers who got their feet wet in the Team Walleye tournaments showed great interest in the MWC.

It's going to be a great year.

Marble Eyes,

If you are looking to fish a low key tournament with a partner then check out Team Walleye or some other local tournaments. If you need a list see your local bait shop or join a fishing club.

If you are looking to fish as a co angler with a pro then you would want to look at the PWT or RCL. Both are great events and you should learn lots from the pro's you'll fish with.

What kind of boat do you run?

Spring Valley will fill up, it's doubtful any of the other tournaments will have much more than 150 boats, if I remember correctly Spring Valley was the only MWC tourney to fill up last year! And they had around 100 boats pre-register last year, it appears things will be worse this year.
