Heading up to Leech for the upcoming weekend. Any suggestions on locations & presentations that might help?

the word on the street is that the leech lake bite is somewhat tough. from what i can tell, the folks fishing the lake regularly are still catching fish. i think the problem is getting good information from the guys that are working hard to find the fish. it would be a great idea to "hire a guide" for this trip to leech lake. the anglers i talk to are catching a good amount of fish. it makes sense to me that the more difficult the bite is, the more difficult it is to come up with free information from the local guides, etc...
just a thought.
