Fished a couple of hours Sunday morning, caught 5. 1 17 1/2, 1 18, 3 runts. Found fish but ran out of time. Seems like a lindy or bottom bouncer is best, 12-22 ft. 18 inch fish was a pure sauger, somewhat rare on the big lake. Heavy thunderstorm activity Sunday night may have put the fish down, may see more such weather today.

Took my wife out today because she's on vaction and loves to fish. We launched at Bushes Landing, at 11:00, and went straight across the lake from from the boat ramp. We had everyone of our slots by 2:15. We trolled bottom bouncers with a 3 foot leader, and a single #4 hook with half a night crawler, in 10 to 15 foot of water. The water surface temp was 75 degrees. Glad everything worked out, because for just one day she thinks I'm a fishing god(got fooled,huh...lol). But, seriously there is a good bite from Sutton Bay on down to the face of the dam. Hope this helps you out on your trip.

Guided on Monday June 24th at Akaska. Fishing was good but the weather was not. 99 degrees and not a breath of wind. Caught most of our fish between 8 am and 11am on bottom bouncers and spinners in 8 to 15ft of water. Between 11am and 1PM the fishing got tougher, the fish moved to the 25ft. level because of the weather. My suggestion is to get out as early as possible and fish 8 to 15ft. If you want to brave the heat and humidity and fish in the afternoon, try the first break around the 25ft. mark once it heats up. Fish the main points that drop into the main channel (deep water). Most of the fish are small but we did manage a 19.5", 18", and a 17". Good luck.

Well I'm back. My dad and I came back with 50 walleyes. Nothing bigger than 18 inches. But we had fun none the less. We worked hard to get them. We probably only caught about 75 walleyes total, even a few that were only 7 inches long. We did all of our fishing right near the hiway 12 bridge. We tried other spots but no luck.

I also just got back from the Mobridge area and the fishing was
just great. Limits of the smaller and larger slot sizes were gotten on Friday and Saturday.
Friday and Saturday the wind was blowing about 30 mph out of the south
and the temp. was about 110 degrees. We just drifted the points in
8-10 feet and had great action on spinner/bouncer rigs with leeches or
crawlers. I released a very fat 25 incher that was our largest for the trip. Had a great trip and the fish look very healthy
Good Luck
