wet net, i didn't get your report until i got home, but that is where we went. 5 hour drive. we got 16 eyes, lots of perch and white bass, a couple sheeps and lost 2 steelies. it was my first time fishing out of eastlake, my boats first time on erie, and my nephews first time on the big pond so not to bad. the only problem i found is that on my limited funding, there is no place close there to camp so we had to rent an 80.00 motel room and 10.00 a day for launch. at a state park we get a campsite, hot shower, and boat launch for 20.00 a day. don't know if i'll ever go back or not. thanks for the reply.

Greg,
You're right about the accomodations in that area, very expensive or non existent camping. Me and my girlfriend stayed at Geneva State Park Friday and Saturday and fished the Fairport area (1/2 hour drive) I think thats about as good as you can do. We had great results both days with a couple over 30 and plenty of action. Little trash fish aggravation either.
ezmarc, do you fish fairport or geneva often? thats where we normally go but i couldn't find no reports for those areas. i plan on coming back up the 13th and 14th of july.

Greg,
Last year was my first in that area and I heard I picked a bad year to start and then set out to prove it. We'll be making 3 more trips this summer for some tourneys and prefishing (Geneva then Fairport and Astabula). Beautiful area of the lake and much less crowded with not much in the way of reports but then last year there wasn't anything to report so maybe that will change. Try walleye.com there are a few reports there.
