Waterdog, What part of the lake did you fish? I try to avoid the lake on holliday weeks because of the numbers of jerks and idiots that come out of the woodwork. My go to spot this time of year is at the dam. My best advise is to slowly troll diving minnow baits from the power plant to the mountian long lined to bounce off rocks at 20-25 feet. The bite is usually in the first hour of darkness and the last hour before daylight. This is also a good spot/method to pick up a striper or a piggy small mouth. Good luck Rich

Hope you get out and good Luck!

The guys dragging boards are probably chasing stripers. Concentrate on the area of the dam even with the #1 marker in front of the tower. My best luck has been with minnow shaped diving plugs in shad and alwife colors. Rich

Spent the week of the 7th to the 13th,and was the worst I've ever done there. The water is alway's clear, and the early hours are best. Dawn, dusk, and night.I've fished it for 20+yrs,and this was the worst I've ever had.The temp.was 80 deg.already, and the tree tops are the place to fish. Well they didn't cooroperate, and the 3-way's and bait or long line trolling put crapola,in the livewell. The points always seem to give a few 'eyes up,and I've never taken a sub-legal size fish here. Couldn't even get 1. Went on to Muskie trolling. Good idea. This lake has some phenominal,Musky, and not enough people think so,and that's fine with me.If you've never fished it,get ready to learn. Take a map, look at spots you think fish would be,and go to it.They're here today;gone later today. If you took a few on the #5 mile marker today, well chances are tommorow will not be the same. ALL fish seem to follow the bait, along #3 at dawn, then the evening bite could be 2 miles away. Get a milk run for this lake, and don't set yourself up for failure.Move. Alot. It's approx 30 miles long. Use 'em all.#22 has some good spots, then so does the dam;at #1.Two points near the Susquehannock camp, has some water near the old channel,at 120',next to a shelf maybe topping out at 20'.Give 'em a try.Husky Jerks, and Wally Divers.Spinners shine.DEEP,DEEP forage puts this lake into the tuff class.Fish the old trees.
