Might be driving to Crookston sometime soon -- is it worth the extra miles to go to EGF Cabelas (anything there I can't see at Gander Mtn, Galyans, etc.)?

If it's anything like the Owatonna store, you bet, it is worth it. If nothing else, you can get a great lunch at Cabela's. Their bison and elk sandwiches are superb.

I have been to Galyan's and Cabela's. I would say they compare pretty close. I am not sure that they have a deli at the one in EGF. It is a nice store and I make the drive there about every 3 months or so, 60 minute drive for me...

And so? I've been to Crookston. A sporting goods store is the most exciting place in town even if you've seen it all before.

The East Grand Forks Cabelas does have a deli. The EGF Cabelas is quite a bit smaller than the Owatonna, but still very nice. It's always worth stopping in. I was there on Saturday and they are still in the process of getting the new summer stuff in and on the shelves. They don't have too much of the new fishing stuff in yet. If you don't get to a Cabelas very often I would definatly go.

Hey, Cabelas is great. It is worth the trip. The store products you could probably find most places exept cabelas products. The store itself is somthing to see though, it has it all. some products that are made by well known companies have what they call "Cabelas Exclusives" that you cant find at other stores.

I am from that area and visit it quite often as I primarlily fish Sakakwea and Devils Lake. I live in the Twin Cities and find my self saving my pennies for visits back home to Scheels All Sports. The Cabela's is nice, but it doesn't have the selection Schesls does (IMHO). What you see in the catalog is what they have. They do have great customer services. If you do go, go across the street to Whiteys cafe, quite a unique place with quite a history. It's a bit different than before the flood, but the history of moonshiners and the river are pretty cool, my grandpa ran shine through there. The original horseshoe bar is still there. Next door the Blue Moose has great food also.

Have fun, any questions email me...
