LAST EDITED ON Feb-07-01 AT 09:57AM (CST)[p]The next meeting of the Brainerd Chapter of the Minnesota Walleye Alliance will take place on Wednesday, February 7 at 7 PM at the Brainerd Elks Lodge. Featured speaker will be Minnesota Fishing Roundtable member Glen Belgum. Glen will discuss two important issues, Bag Limits and Mille Lacs harvest quotas; past-present-future, that were the focus of the recent Minnesota Fishing Roundtable meeting. The Fishing Roundtable is a very diverse group of people who represent just about every aspect of the fishing industry including lakeshore property owners, boat and tackle manufacturers, outdoor writers, and other such fishing interests. Glen will offer insight to the events of the roundtable meeting as well as discuss the various views presented by roundtable members as well as the DNR.
Glen Belgum is a resident of the Brainerd area and in addition to being a member of the Minnesota Fishing Roundtable, is a board member of the Brainerd Walleye Alliance. Glen will be one of three representatives of the Brainerd Walleye Alliance having attended the Mille Lacs Fisheries Input Group meeting on January 30. Information on the 2001 harvest quota and regulations will also be discussed.
Brainerd Walleye Alliance meetings are open to the public and are free of charge. The Brainerd Walleye Alliance meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7 PM at the Elks Lodge in Brainerd. More information about the Minnesota Walleye Alliance can be found at www.MnWalleyeAlliance.com
