View Full Version : Rapala shad raps
Does anyone know if rapala still makes a shad rap white with a blue top. I know they make one a countdown it that color, but can not find a shad rap, so if anyone knows please let me know Thank you
That pattern was discontinued and its a shame because it produced for everyone that used it.

It was a sad day when they quit selling that one!!! Can't figure out why Normark keeps messing with proven products.
Fact is, that Rapala the company still makes em...its the distributor Normark that does not bring them to the US. If you are lucky enough to visit Europe, you would be amazed at the variety of colors for Rapala lures...lots of stuff we don't have here. I have heard, and hopefully some of you Canadians can give creedence to this rumor, but I guess they still sell this color in Canada. There is a color called, I think, Pearl/shad..not the white one...that is available up north and not here. It's got a greyish top with an almost beige belly and a little splash of orange under the gills....this one is a great producer as well.
Anyways, you can still find them if you are lucky. I recently bought a dozen #5's in blue and white at this little out-of-the way bait shop...cleaned em out.

Does anyone have an e-mail address to get in touch with them. I went to there web page but nothing was there for comments or any of that stuff where you could ask them why .
Guys,
Give me some info on the shad rap. I've got about 6. Two 5's, and one each of 7,8,9, and a shallow shad rap. I've tried casting and trolling with them - I guess my confidence with these is shot - catching most my walleyes on crawler harnesses and hot-n-tots and floating original raps. I've seen lots of raves for the good old shad rap just wondering how, what, where, why?
Now I have a favorite rattlin fat rap and I hate to say its my go-to crank for Bass. What about the shad rap?

Guess i havent paid much attention...but do they still make jointed floating raps in the blue/silver color? Hope so...caught a lot of big walleyes on those in shallow water at night. Catch a lot of big ones on shallow running shads also...but i like the silver shiner or black/silver for that.
