Was watching John Gillespie Wisconsin Waters & Woods a week ago and they were just anchored on reefs pitchin jigs/crawlers and were just hammering 15"-23" walleyes in what looked like the middle of the day!
Is winnebago really producing great numbers of fish right now or were they just "lucky that day"?

Yes winnebago is that good this year and for a few years to come. The bite has started to drop off for some. The drop off is expected as the bait fish get larger and more numerous. It is occurring later this year though. But the mud fish I hear are moving to the southern end of the lake and guys are getting some good numbers of fish.Seeing is believing.Later Also Larry is very good at what he does,he knows the reefs. And like he said it has to be windy to be any good on the reefs. The show was taped pretty close to the 4th of July.

The folks who keep on top of the bite and network have done well all year. Certainly, you may have a bad day and be hot the next with the same presentation. Give it a shot!!
Take care,
Since nobody is posting on lake-link I thought I would try here. I know the fleet farm tourney is this weekend but is it worth fighting the boats if people are struggling finding fish.
It will probably make it easier to locate them with the amount of boats on a saturday but anyways. If you can give any insight it would be much appreciated. I haven't been out there for about a month now and thinking of driving 2 hours to give it another try.

With the tourney going on this Sat and Sunday you should be able to key off of the boats and get an idea of what is working. I might head up this weekend myself and I will start by checking out the area near the Pioneer and head out east and north. You could look for boats trolling, or as I prefer, head out and find them on your graph. I would be prepared to run spinners high and low as well as run your favorite stick baits. Reports have put some perch around Garlic and Menomonie, can the walleyes be far away? Good luck.
I will probably end up heading out hopefully with some success. I will land at calument I think since it seems everything is on the southern end as of later. What kind of boat are you running and where are you driving from?
It is supposed to be a nice day anyways not to hot with a nice breeze!
Good luck
