IS THERE ANY TRICK TO STOPPING ICE BUILDING UP ON MY HAND AUGER BLADES(8" MORA). AFTER IT BUILDS UP I CAN'T EVEN DRILL A HOLE IT JUST SPINS.I HAVE TRYED AFTER I WAS DONE DRILLING MY HOLES TO DRILL PART WAY IN THE ICE LETTING THE AUGER STAND UP ( NO LUCK). THE LAKE I USUALLY FISH HAS A LOT OF SLUSH AND WATER ON TOP SO STANDING THE AUGER IN A PARTUALLY DRILLED HOLE ONLY ADDS TO THE PROBLEM.THE OUTSIDE TEMP. IS USUALLY 10 TO 15F SO FREEZING AND ICE BLUILD UP DOESN'T TAKE TO LONG. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN THANKS.

Try spraying the blades down with WD-40 after each use.

I can tell you something that doesn't work. I tried brushing it off with my hand. (real smart). It cut through my gloves and sliced my finger to the bone. Luckily my fishing partner had some Arby's napkins and some duct tape in his truck so I could keep on fishing.

How about a hole just for the auger, the
waters warm, will that keep the ice off?
