My Dad fished on Wednesday (yesterday) from 11:00 A.M. - 4 P.M. and was only able to catch 3 small walleye and numerous junk fish. He was trolling just east of the sand bar in 47'. On his way out he talked to a boat that limited in that same area earlier. I think it was the wrong time of day. He was marking fish but couldn't get them going. He also noticed a number of boats making short drifts in the area and saw a couple nice fish caught.
I was up in Lorain last Saturday and limited by 10:00 A.M.. The fish are there. Hope this helps.

Tom: What sort of program were you running? Dipseys (what setting, what number, how far back)? Spoons? Worm harnesses?
Thanks in advance for the info!
Program, Wed afternoon,31 to 34 north,17 to 20 east,21 eyes, big boards, reefrunners 140 bk,big dipseys no rings #3 bk 105,#2 bk 84,running 3.0 to 3.5 gps all braided line.Plot your fish on gps and work them hard makeing shorter circles and you will catch fish. Seems like color is not a big thing, find some hungry fish and stay on them.Caught some giant sheephead and doz white bass, good luck and this has been working well for me about every time i've been out the past few weeks. The speed seems to be makeing this set up work.Go get them!!! "Huck" PS we lost many eyes also.

Thanks for the update Huck.
SPEED KILLS - sometimes - (and probably explains some of the lost fish on braid - but worth if if you have enough hookups...)

Thanks, Huck! Say, what type of ReefRunner are you using? Is it the deep diver type or the type with the small triangular lip? Large or small?
I'm not Huck, but Reef Runners are the full size deep divers. The full size shallow lure "triangle bills" are Rip Sticks; the small shallow lures are Little Rippers and the deep small lures are Deep Little Rippers.
I know it's kind of confusing, the name of the company being one of the lures as well, but that's the way it is.
Tim, Ett is right. I've been running the Runners deep divers. Make sure you super tune them to the speed of 4 or 5 mph. When they won't kick out at that speed you are good to go,check them every time you use them and after catching a big fish.I believe that is the secret to catching fish on them. I've had friends follow me running the same program and not catch fish and after taking a trip with me could see why they didn't. They can be a bear to tune, stick with it and it can be done some are harder than others. The gold clown has been a hot one lately, but many others have been working also. One great thing I have found with the Reef Runners is that 90% of the fish caught on them have been eyes and they are easy to read with small fish on. I'm not sponsored by anyone and just a retired guy that loves to fish. Good Luck and I hope this helps you catch more fish. "Huck"

After having engine trouble at the ramp and getting a late start, we got out around 11am. I was fishing the NW side of the bar and managed to get 7.It was way too hot, way too flat for us old farts to continue. We quit at 3pm. I used basically the same program as was listed. All posts but one came after I left in the morning. Could have used all your input. Could have done better if we started earlier I think. Maybe next week. Thanks again. iFish :-)
