rap
this has been my most degusting year as far as time on the water goes, the gods havn,t been nice to me at all, i was at pymy friday night ready and rearin to go saturday and today but after being on the water for 1 hour yesterday i got a call and had to head back home so hear i sit on sunday instead of on the water, the only thing i can hope for now is that this same trend dosn,t show its ugly face over the fall and winter for the river fishing cause if it does i,ll have no choice but to sink the boat with me in it.

Hey Tom...
Sorry to hear you haven't had much of an opportunity to hit the lake(s) this year. I hope that things get better for you this fall! BTW I just purchased a boat, and will be looking to get in on some of the river action you were telling me about earlier this year. Perhaps you could drop me some info regarding good launch points near/around the dam? I think you had said it was the Highfield bridge area...
Will I be able to manuever the current flow with a 15hp Johnson?
simonsey
there are 2 launches at the dam, 1 at the crows nest marina which puts you right there you don,t even need a gas motor to get in on the action, thats the launch i use BUT you have to buy a permit thats good from october untill the end of april, the cost is 130.00 dollars and if you ask anybody who launches there they will tell you its worth every penny cause your car or truck is locked on private property and as i said when you launch there you can use your electric motor cause your right in the thick of things, thats the launch i use, the other launch is about 1/8 of a mile down river on the same side now this launch was open all last year but i have drove past and saw a chain across the launch and you couldn,t get a boat in, it also gets really muddy when the river comes up and you,ll need four wheel drive and the area is tight as far as turning around if you have to depending on how many people are there and where they park, that whole part of the river is good fishing water and you,ll have no problems with a 15hp heck i,ve seen guys in canoes, let me know if you need any more info.

Hey tom, I Don't know if this is you but are you from bridgeville area let me know if so I Talked to you last fall at pyme.
plucker
yeah i live about 7 miles southwest of bridgeville, rapman i,m talking the Allegheny river down at pittsburgh and the fish are walleye, sauger, muskie and anything else swimming, we,er talking 100 fish days that arn,t uncommon mostly sauger with the eyes mixed in but they are great times and fast and furios, i was there on this past new years day when it was 11 degrees out i used the boat as a water plow to break ice to get to a few spots but man was it worth it, 2 guys from 7.00am to 1.00pm we put 135 fish in the boat that day so give me a hollar and you,ll get a little peice of heaven for a day, did i mention walleye up to 14 lbs.
