I will be up at the lake this weekend. How are the walleye hitting? I bet it is tough fishing this time of year.

Maybe that means that he hit his head off his computer monitor waiting for a reply to his question -- ha, ha. I don't know what it means either. Someone care to offer an explaination?

Jake,

I have been fishing the south end the last few weeks with pretty good success with lead core and hot n tots. Look for fish in 12- 14' of water and 15' to 16' and 18' to 20'. I know sounds like alot of looking but when you find them remember where you were and BE THERE between 4 and 6:30 PM. That is when I've gotten most of my fish as of late. best colors seem to be metalic silver with black/green/blue/purple. They want the silver flash, top color doesn't seem that important. Hope this helps... I'll be going down this evening .... let you know how I make out.

Good Fishing Everyone!!!!

I have been catching a lot of pan fish consisting of perch, Blue Gills and Sun Fish mixed in with a Walleye or two. I to have been fishing the most southern end of the Lake down by Jamestown and will be up there Saturday the 17th. I am fishing the coves that have a lot of shade in about 8 to 13 feet of water plus a lot of weeds. In fact while fishing last Saturday I saw a guy land a nice Smallmouth Bass and he had told me that he got a 25 incher in the same spot the week before. Using crawlers with floating jigs regular and glow. I caught a decent Walleye Saturday as well. Hope this helps out.
Spunkeye, waiting for the water to cool down so the fall fishing starts.

I was not referring to a 25 inch Smallmouth but a 25 inch Walleye. The point was that a mixed bag of fish are bitting but most torward the evening.

read a lot about guys eager to try lead core. i use both . have at least one of each out every trip. i have alot of success with lead and really like it but dont forget about your mono.mono for me lately has outfished the lead.i been running lead around 4 years so i know how to use it, but ive been in 16-20 ft fishing mono down 13-14 ft and catching a lot of fish.

when you reel in you rig with weeds on it, dont let so much line out the next time you let it out a few cranks less, the diffrence can be explosive to be just above weedbeds instead of in them, when somethings not working right, adjust it

Jake, how was your trip this past week end? I fished saturday morning up by the causeway and caught two sublegal fish, I then fished the southern end in the evening and managed to land one legal fish, Sunday morning fished the southern end again and managed to boat 9 walleyes 4 of which were legal and lost a nice one at the boat, and boated a 24" channel cat that put up one heck of a fight. I fished Kinzua on monday evening and landed 3 small walleye, 3 smallmouth, and 2 white bass, I think I am going back to pymatuning on friday and try again. good luck and tight lines...
