Heading to Leech lake from S.E. Mi Fri. Want to ckeck out the area to possibly move to when I retire in 5 years. Want to live someplace that still has winters because we sure don't have them here any more. I know the walleye fishing has been slow from reading other posts last week. Has it picked up any and does anybody have any presentation tips to pass along. Thanks.

Day bite has continued poor even when there is good wind and a walleye chop. There is a wimpy bite evenings in the 8-10pm time frame. Last I heard the Leech Lake Guide coalition was still taking people who want walleyes to other lakes in the area. A friend of mine who guides on Cass was hired to take out a Leech Lake guide and his client a few days back, which shows how bad things are. Everyone is hoping this climaxes with a dynamite fall bite!!

We're going up again the 28th of Septemeber, for 7 days, and I sure hope your right about the fall bite.

So far this year we've gone up 3 times and while the eyes weren’t jumping into the boat, we did a lot better then most. I’ve always favored night fishing for eyes and 90% of our catch always comes between 8 and 10.

During the day we’ll go out for perch and pike, or just relax and enjoy the area.
