Looks like me and a buddy are heading to Lonetree on Saturday.
Anyone have any tips for that lake? I will probably try the spinner in weeds thing of course, but anyone having any luck on the wipers there at all?
Wishin' for rain in the 303.

I've had luck with trolling rattle traps along the weed lines on the west side of the lake. That is where I caught the 24" wiper about three weeks ago, (on a cabela's real image rattle trap in the shad color).

Thanks Andy.
I guess the water is down 8 feet from full.
Do you know how deep the weedline will be? <----- That is always hard for me to tell there.

Eric, I caught three decent eye's last summer, at the NW corner of the riprap where the trees start. There is a big weed bed that extends from the trees to the deep cup there next to the riprap. We were dropping nightcrawlers down that slope from shore. You could anchor out in front and fish slip bobbers from your boat. We had lots of strikes there, but only landed the three! Tons of bass in that area also! I have never caught a decent Wiper at Lonetree, just a couple of small ones?

Eric, I will post how we do this afternoon/night. I am going to try a little slabbing.

Eric, we caught two Walleyes trolling Little ripper, and Risto Rap, one was 25" and the other 20". There is a ton of bait up along the west shore line and you would see fish bust through them every so often. There were a few guys working the north end, I think they were fishing for Largemouths. We worked the middle to the north in 18'. I think the guys picking up Wipers are slow tolling twisters with their trolling motors, because most of those boils were in 10' or less. Good luck, Collie

On Saturday we caught a small walleye on a Shad Rap #7 with 200' of line out and a wiper on a bouncer/spinner.
Both came from the clouds of baitfish on the west side. The bait seems to have moved more to south. Interesting how on the east side there is almost nothing and then you move towards the middle and the west and the balls of bait really start to show up.
Nice fish. Did you catch those in the twilight hours?
