Guttenburg Iowa has a club. In spring/summer trailering the boat thru there i always see a 20 or 24 foot Alum. flatbottom with a platform in the middle that the shooters stand on to see and stick carp-it looks first class. i am gong thru there on the 17th, email me to remind me and i will look up the club membership for You to contact--as a matter of fact, i will make a call or two and post the contact . good luck, it looks like alot of fun

If you want to go to a big carp shoot,we have a big one in Caseville,Michigan. They have BIG$$ payouts.I have seen the guys come in towing another boat with their fish in it!! They bring in tons of carp!!

Falls Archery in Menomonee Falls usually sponsors a
a carp shoot on Green Bay the first or second weekend in June.
They rent a dumpster to "store" your catch at the end of the day so you don't have to mess with them when you get home. If you can't make their tourney, the west shore of Green Bay off of Lineville Road can be absolutely phenomenal. When you start passing up 20 lbers looking for something bigger to shoot, that's "carp shooting heaven". My biggest overlapped both ends of a 55 gallon drum that we cut in half to reduce slime in the boat when removing the arrow......

Archery clubs in Trempealeau, Arcadia, Whitehall and one or two others all have at least one a year starting the first weekend in May. Some are limited to the Mississippi while others allow trailering as long as you make it to the weigh-in on time. Two man teams and you usully fish from sunrrise till about 2:00 pm. If these are close to home for you, send me an e-mail and I'll get you more info. They are a blast.

I thought maybe he was talking about carp skeet shooting for the jumping Asian Carp.

Now THAT would be fun!

Probably some law against it, though.

Outdoor Wisconsin had a show where Dan Small was on the Illinois River bowfishing for Asian Carp. They had several guys in a large Jonboat heading up river at about 10 - 20 mph. When the carp would jump out of the water the guys would take turns shooting arrows at the carp. Your're right it did look like fun and it was cheap too; something like $5 for a permit/license and no limits. The Guide cooked up some of the fish later and everyone agreed that they were pretty tasty.:yum:

For many years a bunch of us from Western NY would go to Caseville Michigan.
Here's some pictures of just ONE truck full of carp. They would fill a LOT of trucks !!

One year my cousin and I brought in 918 pounds, and only came in 18th !!

I was thinking shotgun but arrows could be fun too.
