Buckeye Twister

I have very limited experience with the part of the Ohio River known as the Pike Island Pool and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have fished it only a few times and caught fish, but they all seem to be small (ten to twelve inches). The problem is that everywhere I look, it seems plenty fishy enough. If one considers the Ohio and the West Virginia shores there is more than 60 miles of fishing. So many places, so little time... I have had the most success with tubes, and some with cranks, but again the pickings have been small. Little fish come from big fish, but I have not gotten anything close. I have not fished it in the spring or fall yet, but thought I would luck into a good one once in the while in the summer. Can anyone familiar with the area give me some good starting spots. I have read some books on the fishing here and they have helped, but would appreciate more recent information. Thanks for your time, attention and help.
