Greg,
Apparently nobody is talking. I plan to go due north out of Ashtabula and troll in the direction the wind dictates. I would recommend you do the the same. I'have heard good reports both east and west of Ashtabula last week. No reports either way this week I'm sure the fish are still here somewhere. As far as techniques. I'll put out an assortment of spoons (fintail stingers) crawler harnesses (copper back anything on the front)and minnow baits (I like Yozuri). I run them off big dipsies 1@80-100,21/4@110-125,31/2@130-150.
I've done pretty well this year with this program.
I think you will get some fish if you go.
thanks!
we got one that was 8.5 lbs. on saturday we also lost 2 hawgs right behind the boat. most of our fish came on downriggers at 65 ft. i'm glad it wasn't cold. we got a wet butt coming back in both days beings my boat is only 17'. take care and good fishing.

How many did you catch? is the big school still there? any number on the school would be a great help. Going up on the 7th of Sept. Thanks
denny,
no big school to be found. didn't mark alot. just picked up one here and there. ended with 10 nice ones and also lost 2 6-8lbers at the boat. our best fishing was 14-16 miles dead north of the ramp. hope this helps.
