Starting to think about a late fall trip to Little Bay de Noc. Since I,ve never been there before, I need some help on where the best place to go is? I,ve heard the night trolling can be really good for some Big fish. Any help on where to stay, launch, and technics would be helpfull. Thanks DJH

I very highly recommend Lindberg's Resort. Been going there for 16 years and John and Jeannie are the best. They have nice, clean, well kept cabins and probably the best dockage on the entire bay. Close to town for convienience. By this time, they are probably booked as they get quite alot of repeat customers (like me), but you can give it a shot, they may have a cancellation or two.
Also, especially since the dramatic increase in crowds since the late 80's, it does seem the better fishing is *generally* during the week.
This is not a hard and fast rule, but there are a heck of alot a boats on the weekend and this does factor in.
If you haven't been there a while, a guide is highly recommended. Take your choice, there are alot of guides up there in the fall, especially with all the Wisconsin guides that come over.
Thing I enjoy about the area is the versatility and the options. You can fish the bays, the inland lakes, the rivers. You can fish walleyes, smallies or pike, or go and fish salmon, browns, splake or steelies. You can find muskies with a little driving and scouting. Escanaba has wonderful restaurants, but yet, with a little searching, you can find a fishing spot all to yourself if that is what you desire.

Try Bay Shore Resort. They have a great bait shop as well as cabins and a nice harbor and dock. www.bay-shore-resort.com
Catch a big one.
