There is one right across from the gull motel, that is walski's, and another one upriver a little ways , the Holiday harbor marina. that is the 2 most used in the huron area. walski's is on rt #6, and the other one is off of main street, just south of the railroad crossing, on the left side of the road. good luck and good fishin.

I too need better boat ramp than has been listed. I have used both of these and with my 26 ft boat I find it almost impossable to retreave boat. Is there any ramps that are like Cataba State park at Port Clinton?

Walski's rebuilt the ramp completely this spring(?). It is better than it used to be (now it's level). If you want to travel 10 or so miles east to Vermillion, the municipal launch in the river is pretty good. My boat is only 19', so I'm not sure about launching bigger boats. Both of these ramps seem to be comparable to Cataba SP.

The ramp at Vermillion would work for you. There is a bit of an idle to get to the lake, but it's not that bad.

Avoid Cranberry Creek. It is between Huron and Vermillion. The ramp is very steep, and the entrance from the lake, in my experience is a death trap if the wind comes from anywhere north. I've had hair raising experiences there during a wind switch. It's a handy place to start, but too many ifs.

I agree with Toolman, Vermillion public ramp is where you want to launch. I was there three weeks ago in my 24', no problem except if you get there before the dock master is there pick up a envelope and pay your fee prior to launching. There a little up-tight if you don't, guess they figure you might cheat them or something. If your fishing for walleye head a 330 out of the left side of the breakwall about 7 miles. GPS # 27 -27 to the 30 - 30, last time out we worked small pockets, average size was 3 to 6lbrs with a few nice ones thrown in, anything in gold was working. Good Fishin
