2001 being my 2nd year of trolling, mission is to refine my techniques. Home body of water is Lake Winnebago. "Eye's" are notorious for suspending mere ft. below the surface over 20 ft. of water. Need to upgrade electronics this year. Would like to be capable of locating those pods of fish. Considering Bottom Line's units. How's there reputation? Any other choices for a moderatly priced unit? Thanx for any help RMP

Just paging through a Raytheon catalog and noticed they have the ability to add a sideviewer to a couple of thier units. They call it a sidelooker and it is compatible with the L265, L365, L470 and L750 depthfinders

Bottomline's sidefinder works great, but the challenge is still figuring out how deep the fish are suspending (if they're fairly shallow they sometimes spook away from the boat so you never get to see them on the main graph). My Tournament Champion has the advantage that it has four side beams, two straight out and two at 45 degree angles, so you can estimate depth by which beams the fish show up in and how far away they are.
I have bottomline tournament master hr and love the unit. As far as side finder depth is concerned when I mark fish I fish in the upper 15 feet of water.
