Fished the 29/21 area about 3 miles north of vermillion on Monday. Managed only 3 fish, two 8-9 pounders and one small one. Small fish came on a eriedescent ripstick 65' back off inline board. One big fish came on #2dipsy 70' back with big confusion spoon. Other hit #2 dipsey 75' back with large blueberry muffin. We got on some nice marks but could not get them to go.
Talked to a fella at the cleaning table who had a nice limit but was 3 miles west of us. He got all his on reefrunners, 150' back.

Appears may be time to switch from spoons to cranks. water temp was around 53.

Sounded slow generally from radio traffic.

Weather bad for next few days so came home. Hope to go back up wed. night and fish thurs/friday. Saturdays a big blow- 6-8 footers!

.THURSDAY...NORTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 15 KNOTS BECOMING WEST. SCATTERED

RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS. WAVES 1 TO 3 FEET.

.FRIDAY...WEST WINDS 5 TO 15 KNOTS INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 KNOTS.

RAIN OR SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY. WAVES BUILDING TO 4 TO 6 FEET.

.SATURDAY...NORTHWEST WINDS TO 30 KNOTS. SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY.

WAVES BUILDING TO 6 TO 8 FEET.

Boatnut, I posted under another heading that we caught 13 on Monday before the big blow started. From 8:00-2:00; we caught the fish at the 27/26-25 lines. You're right on the cranks. All but two fish came on ReefRunners back 175-180 or so. Big fish: 2-10lbs, 2-9 lbs and 2-8lbs. Hated to see the wind pick up, as we surfed solid six footers back to the boat basin around 4:00 pm. The fish were really nailing the crankbaits. My boat was laid up, and I fished with Tom aboard "The Optimist." Thanks, Tom.

I plan to be heading out of Huron tomorrow, too. Try for perch first, then walleye. Monitoring channel 79.
