Actually it's sarcastic comments like the last two that are giving this site a bad reputation. Maybe I'd like to see these fish. This guy is providing a service to me if not for you. If he didn't post I would know nothing about White's Landing. Lighten up and get a life.
There are some really nice fish taken at whites when the ice is good, but you have to know where to fish. Two winters ago, I had a shanty out there and limited out with nice fish almost every time out, but the people fishing next to me wouldn't even get a bite.(they were less than 10' away) If you know where you are going, you will catch fish.

I appreciate the pictures of the recent catch.........It looked like a lot of Bullheads with an occasional Midsized perch and were there any Crappies? I wonder about the Bullheads...are they edible and safe to eat from Erie? I thought there was an advisory on bottom feeders......anyways its funn to catch em.....Thanks!

I fished the springs at White's Landing years ago before Walleye Central and guide services brought tons of attention to the area. I have no doubt the guys guiding at the springs know their stuff and are catching fish, but they may be the only ones. Location is so important that a couple feet usually makes the difference between a bucket of fish and getting skunked. I no longer fish there because the permanent shanties sitting on the springs keep us non locals from getting to the hot spots. It's a bit frustrating when you travel to fish there during the week and there are empty shacks are packed in the area around the springs so tight I can't fit my portable between them.
