Are the launches/rivers ok? Anyone fishing today? We are looking to get out this weekend. Any reports?

Hi Juls! I'm on Chris's computer.
I stopped by at Walski's on the way home from Cleveland tonight. There is a path down to the boat basin that is passable but the ramp itself is a little iffy. It's open and usable but lots of big ice chunks floating around. Watch your taillights when backing in and go slow and you should be OK. I'm hoping to catch a ride this weekend myself (My boat's still crippled), hope to see you and Bigfoot out there.
Take some salt along for the ramp!
Good luck if you go, it's been tough, but that could change with the almost decent weather we've had the last few days.

Thanks for the report Marc. Just saw the weather this morning and it looks like there is a wet weather system on its way up here from the South. Looks like it's going to start tonight and last through tomorrow. They're talking snow again...grrrr... 1-3 or 3-5" with a North wind 10-20. Not good. :-(

P.S. Hey jerry (brat..;-)), by letting my fingers do the walking I'm.... ummmmmmmm, doing my part to help the evniorment..yeah, that's it! I'm saving gas, and doing my part not to add to the pollution levels. heheh

They are dredging in Vermilion,They have broken all the ice out to the lake. The water clarity looks excellent.No ice around the ramp.To bad we couldn't get the weather this weekend!

We wre considering fishing on Wenesday if the weather is OK---which is questionable right now. has anyone had any luck the last couple days, and are the rivers still open? Do you think this water is fishable with southern winds in the 20-30 knot range consideraing how close in the fish should be?

I will attempt the fishing tomorrow (Wed). I should be be on the water (if possible) by 10:00am. I will try Huron (Holiday Harbor or Walskies-spell) if not Vermillion. I hope it is fishable.
I will be on ch 79 and in contact w/ Den.
