Tried the hard water bite on Wilhelm last night. Pretty slow for the first night out, with only 2 perch and 2 crappie for the evening. Ice was clear and about 4+ inches thick at the three post road bed.

Got on Fri at 7 off Sat at 2AM brought home 2 nice Crappie and 1 perch. Caught about 10 more small Crappie but no size. Screen of X48 loaded with fish all nite not alot of takers .Maybe Sun.

Gave it a whirl Saturday morning for just over two hours. Two of us managed 11 keeper perch and 1 small crappie. Going to explore new areas of the lake here on future trips. Too many dudes in the same old places. The fish gotta catch on. Friend of mine was getting 2-3 walleyes a morning with 20+ perch until the other fishermen figured out there was safe ice. Boy do the power augers shut those fish down!

For got to mention. With all the activity on your graph and with the perch bite being really good in the morning, you might want to hit that same spot during daylight hours. Semi-to-fully-dead fatheads have been producing better than anything else.

Thx eyespy I'll be using at least 1 rod with Waxworms next time. The guy sitting rite next to me was outfishing me 2 to 1 and his were better also. I was sitting on the road bed so once the regulars get on the ice it will get pressured fast.Maybe Fri nite again can't Sat having a X-mas party Sat nite. Sun morn will be hangover time so thats out 2 also gotta watch them Steelers.

Watch the Steelers? No way. Much more enjoyable to listen to the game on the radio... out on the ice.

Still hoping 4 Fri. nite but doesn't sound good. Report on Iceshanty.com had a guy go thru yesterday on the roadbed so I'm not sure what to do will play by ear. Got an order of bait due in tomorrow from Vados I'd love to try out .Old FishTrap on the roadbed stop by and give a yell .Gotta Luv The STEELERS . Jim C.
