Recently saw a boat with an extension on bow rod holders that made them higher so you dont have to reach down to them all of the time. Have any of you seen these and if so, who manufactures them. Thinking of rigging some up myself if I can't find them.

What brand of rod holders do you now have?
May be able to help you.

How long of an extension was it? Might be the new RAM rodholders you're talking about.

Visit their website www.ram-mount.com and see if that's it.

I also saw a picture of the extended rod holders that were up about 15" to 18" high near the bow so they could be reached without bending over from a stand-up seat. They were on Rick Olsen's boat in the 2001 Walleye Guide. They're not RAM's and I don't know what kind they were, but I'm curious too.

The rod holder extensions are made by scotty.

Cabelas sells them. They fit their rod holders and Scotties (Same holders). Works great for rigging or jigging. Get a fish on one rod, set the other one in the holder without bending down.

Yep,
Made by scotty for Cabelas. I've (3) HT360 Superlites and 2 of the extensions. The Holder run about 14 each, includes the base, and the extensions are pricey at $19. They are super though. I also have a RAM - not bad - like the superlite better.
