Curious if anybody has any experience with the G Loomis WBR813C. This is in the Walleye series and is a 6'9" MH rod built for pulling bottom bouncers. I have the opportunity to buy one of these "right" and would appreciate any feedback.

Dave,
I purchased 2 WBR813c Walley Series rods last year specifically for pulling bottombouncers. I have been very happy using them. I do most of my fishing on rivers 8-14 feet deep pulling bottom bouncers and three-ways with bannana lures and crawler harnesses. The tip is very sensitive - I can see and feel the action of the lure or spinner - I know if the lure is fouled and therefore waste no time pulling fouled baits around. The rod has a "3" power rating and therefore enough backbone to easily handle large fish - my partner landed a 28.5 lb, 40 inch flathead catfish with this rod last summer! Comparatively speaking, this rod is very light weight which I really appreciate as I do my backtrolling holding the rod versus putting it in a holder. If you can buy it right, buy it.

Thanks for the info, Jeepman
I picked it up last night on my way home. Your right - for a 6'9" rod, it is very light. The handle seems a little short and a little skinny, but that is probably due to the fact that I've been using Triggersticks for pulling bottom bouncers the past couple years. I'll give it a try this spring!
