Has anyone had any experience with Fenwick's new HMG-AV rods. They look and feel nice off the shelf but I'm looking for some real life feedback on performance, sensitivity, etc. before I lighten my wallet.

I started using the Techna AV rods last year and really like them. I also like the feel of the new HMG AV rods and am looking forward to using them this year. They Aramid Veil technology added to the rod blank reduces vibration and provides a lighter weight blank for increased sensitivity and better casting. The price point is also more affordable then the Techna AV although I really like the Techna as a jig stick.
Good Luck

I haven't used the HMG-AV yet, but saw them at a show. I was given a Techna-AV 6' 6" spinning rod and it is awesome. Fastest action I have ever used. They have the same AV technology, but the HMG's are less expensive and a little softer action. This probably isn't helpful, but if they fish like the Techna-AV's they will be great.

I have had some on the water experience with the HMG AV series. They are incredible. The actions are not quite as fast as the Techna AV, but are faster than the HMG Graphite. The two I have used are the GAVS 70 MLM for live bait rigging and the GAVT 70 MF for bottom bouncing. In both instances I prefer a softer action. The rods offer great sensitivity and the light weight is awesome. I plan on adding a few more to my aresenal this spring.
Good Luck and keep the line tight,
