colchester/holiday beach early walleye bite?

recently moved to the holiday beach/colchester area of lake erie and was wondering if and when there is any early action, i mean before the middle of may? any help is much appreciated thanks greg.

Starting march, hit the river!!!

I did hear they were getting eyes out there last week on the ice,, from what I understand the ice is now gone!

Like Hunter said, many of us are fishing for walleyes in the River through most of May. Perch are a different story, and we'll probably be fishing for them at Colchester by March.

There is also some of the best smallmouth fishing in Lake Erie off some of the reefs in colchester/holiday beach area. There must be some
walleye in the area because there are always commercial fishing boats in the area. You might try to get on some of the reefs/rock piles in March/April and try to vertical jig them.

Homer ,i live in London and usually fish the river in the spring,last spring the weather conditions on the weekend for myself were not the greatest so i perch fished @ Leamington for perch and said see ya later river....April 10 was my first trip...the perchin was good...my daughters photo is on this website in the Kids Photo section...both photos are from Leamington in April/ May ...could you give me a Email when you make it out perchin..thanx Chip Ogglesby

Chip did you take the kids out this year for some hardwater fishing on st.clair? The jumbos have been very co-operative! You may want to give a try out there this spring in the mitchells bay/ st.lukes area,, they have been true hogs, erie perching has NOTHING on st.clair anymore!
