I plan on going out this weds. 3-12 but was wondering which would be best to go out from. Considering ice conditions and distance needed to go out since i may be walking because my snowmobile will only go in a straight line on ice ha ha. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT!!!!

From all the reports I have heard, you can catch fish from either spot. Although if you are going to walk I would suggest camp perry they have been doing real well about 3 miles out for about the last five days me and my buds got out limits there fri and sat.

This morning a crack opened up about 1 1/2 feet so far. check ice conditions first. If the wind switches soon, it may be OK for the weekend.Maybe!

Budman, Are you talking about the crack just off shore or a new one that develpoed further off shore? I am going friday off Camp Perry and also wondered if you are talking about a crack off Catawba or Port Clinton. You are the first to mention a crack. Last weekend we saw one just off shore but other than that it was completely smooth sailing to 7 miles out. Thanks in advance. -Kevin
I was hoping to get out this weekend, can someone give me directions? I am coming from the Detroit area. Also, is the ice thick enough to take a quad out? Finally, is there any local baitshops? Any and all info. would be greatly apprecaited, Thanks in advance.
