Fishing has been good about three miles off Metzger Marsh, but Vern Zunk reports that fishing slobs have left walleye guts thrown on the rocks by the Metzger Marsh pier. :(

I am so tired of people leaving things on the ice. At least walleye guts are biodegradable or some rodent will eat them. I find all kinds of trash including empty canisters of propane, pop and beer cans, etc. It is every fisherman's duty to make sure they leave with everything they brought. I believe it is also their duty report these people to the authorities or just give them a good thumpin right there on the ice.

I agree Tom. I've picked up several dozen propane bottles myself. Some fishermen are pigs and they invariably ruin the enjoyment for the rest of us that really value the sport. Budman

I seen alot of that also. I also noticed people had left bags of trash at the take off point at camp perry. Much more of that crap and the locals will see to it that that area is shut down for us all. We need to use a little sense.

You guys are right on the money. I think there should be a hefty deposit on all containers in all states, not just pop and beer bottles, like in mine here in Michigan. I'm sick of seing both those propane and water bottles on the ice.

I know we've had debated discussions on those refill nozzels for those propane bottles, but I love mine. I've had and used the same propane bottles for 3 years now. That $15.00 investment has paid for iteself many times over. Costs me about .80 each to refill the empties. Admittedly, they only refill about 3/4 full. But I carry about 10 bottles with me, so no problem with running out. I occasionally throw one or two away as they get banged up. And replace them with bottles I've chiped out of the ice while out fishing.

And theres a law about cleaning and discarding fish guts in Michigan. Don't know about Ohio or other places.

Looks like it might be Double Dippers .. Just call 1-800-POACHER on the slobs!!!

Here's a Toledo Blade story I just read on Erie catches & the above problem:

"Just Remember" that the way to communicate with the fish is to drop them a line ;-)
