How about a little U.S. Patent & Trademark research for the need-to-know types like me?

Use Quick Search from patent page: http://www.uspto.gov/patft/index.html

Since OMC's demise, I tried this search:
Term 1= Outboard Marine Corporation
Field 1= Assignee Name
Select Years= All years
(Results in 937 patents - Wow! Wonder if there's any value$ in them?)

Then another with:
Term 1= Brunswick Corporation
Field 1= Assignee Name
Select Years= All years
(Results in 1187 patents - opps there's a bunch of outboard, fishing and billiards stuff mixed together)

If you want to view "references cited" of older prior year patents in some of the newer patents abstracts, you have to view them as IMAGES and need to download & install the only free TIFF Browser plugin available for TIFFs at: http://www.mieweb.com/alternatiff/

I particularly like the early 1905 reference (#780,029) under "Planer Board" patent #5,875,583 (Hey Chairman, do you know Bill Church of Church Tackle Co? Offshore Tackle was listed in his patent.) And the early 1913 reference (#1,307,623) for a dually big-board planer simply called "fishing apparatus" found under "Planer Board" #5,341,591 - a triple board design.

Then there's old 1900 reference stuff out of OMC's "Four-cycle marine engine" #5,738,051

Who would've guessed OMC holds the Curling Iron patent!#4,756,320 with a prior reference to a 1916 patent. I must own 5 of those things.

Other search results on Titles only:
"Ice Fishing" - 135, "Fishing Lure" - 1100, "Fishing line" - 262, "Fishing rod" - 261,"Fishing" - 4997, "Walleye" - only 1!

------------
How about a TRADEMARK Search to at http://www.uspto.gov/web/menu/tm.html

Hey! I found Golden's trademark for "Shut Up and Fish" #75874170 and also "Walleye Central" #75475324

Check out the trademarks for "walleye"! A bunch are DEAD now.

I would have never known the oldest "walleye" TM still listed as LIVE is from 1985 for A WINE called "Walleye White" by Paramount Distillers in Ohio. I gotta have some of that don't you think?!!!! Reward to anyone who can find me some...

Sheila,
Trust me - You DON'T want any "Walleye White" - unless you enjoy Boone's Farm, Maddog 20/20, etc.
Looks like you may have had too much time on your hands...LOL

I found the wine. It's $8.40 a bottle but they only can ship to people 21 that live in Ohio. How funny!

Quite interesting Sheila but what do they mean? You can see where the lawyers get a lot of money for writing all that jibbersh that no one can understand. Fun viewing though thanks for bringing it to us.

Sheila,
This is too funny! I have to agree with what someone else said, it sounds like cabin fever, big time! Not to worry gal, it's almost Spring, and you will be on Erie again in no time! (You are still doing the RCL aren't you?) Hey, thanks for your help and advice with my taxes this year. I'm just able to sqeeze in Erie now too! I have a room down there already with one double bed and two twin beds, a fridg, microwave, and sink. Oh, and of course a bath..;-) Your more than welcome to stay there with me.

Email me, and let me know what your plans are for April.

I flew out to Ohio from Montana in 1998 for the PWT at Port Clinton. I went a few days early to do some site seeing as well as pre-fishing. I found a vinyard just outside of Port Clinton(I cann't recall the name at the moment) but stopped in for dinner and a glass of wine. The featured house wine that night was walleye white. I ended up buying two bottles to bring home. It is a white table wine and comes in a neat looking blue bottle. I don't consider my self a wine expert but know the difference between Mad Dog 20/20 and a fine Merlot. The wine tasted fine and actually had a nice flavor. Best served with fresh walleye of course.

Good Luck and Good Fishing!!

Geez, and I can buy Boone's stuff for $3.00..... But it would be cool to have a bottle around, just to set next to the walleye on the wall. :) Kind of a novelty thing, ya know?

How big a reward. I could send you a bottle. really !!! I won a case in a tournament a few years ago. I think they still make it.

You guys are a little off! I do not have "cabin fever" here in Florida where its 80 & sunny everyday! In fact,I am going for a swim in ocean in a few minutes and then walk out Jupiter pier to see what's hittin'

Juls, glad you did not give that hard-earned and future well-spent money to the IRS! Hey I would love to do the Pt. Clinton RCL with you girl! As long as I don't break my body snowboarding up in Vermont in March and they get those darn applications posted so we can enter it! I'll email you soon.

Then if I came to that April RCL I could land some Walleye White from Cpt.Ric or ETT. Ric - how does a date sound for reward? Would that and drinking a couple bottles on the date (which I would gladly pay for) be enough? hehe Eyefish said it's pretty good?!

Chairman knows I like wine, so besides catching walleye on RCL, or imbibing on that Walleye White after tourney hours, I could shoot the crap about patents with him too while I was there.

It'll be great. Now I've got something to look forward to!
