Hey gang,
I'm pumped!!!! I just signed my name on a PO for a new truck. Have read and heard tons of good things about the Duramax with the Allison. Well, now I get to find out for myself.
....just had to tell someone!!!!

DAVE, CONGRATS. I WAS ALSO INTERESTED IN THIS TRUCK. DID YOU
ORDER THE CREW CAB OR EXTRA CAB? THE PRICE PRETTY HEAVY? DO YOU
FEEL THE ADDED COST FOR DIESEL AND ALLISON WORTH IT OVER GAS?
YOU COULD EMAIL ME A SKINNEY@PRODIGY.NET RATHER THAN POST IF YOU WISH. TX.
Awesome truck! You could pull SS Titanic! Hope you got LT trim level.

Skinny,
This is my first diesel. The durability and pure balls sold me. Have you test-drove one? They have pep to!! Pep and balls!! I got the crew cab with the short box. I've had a Suburban ('95 with a non-vortex 350) for a while so the cost was about the same. My boat/trailer is about 5k lbs. and I know its there when I'm pulling it with the sub, plus I already blew-up a tranny in the sub.
After all the extras are installed, it sould be ready in a couple weeks. I can't wait....
Tight lines,
Dave

i have not had the chance to test drive one yet. i think they are sold before they back them off the truck. how long did it take to get the truck after you put the order in? too bad about the transmission on suburban. how many miles before you had this problem? would you still recommend the suburban? is it 4wd or 2wd and do you think that had anything to do with the problem?
did you get your new one with 4wd? price somewhere around 40k?

Skinny,
I purchased a truck that was already being built for stock at the dealership. It was due to ship the day I signed. It will take a week to get here and a week to install the topper, etc. Normal delivery is 10-12 weeks if your lucky. Very few are in stock. Yes, I did get a 4X4. My 4X4 sub had 95k when the tranny toasted. Was it the 4X4's fault? Heck, who knows. I'm not a mechanic, I just like to fish a lot. And yes, it was $40.
Tight lines,
Dave
