Was out of town for a few days, but noticed you tried to give me a call. Did you find out what you needed on the Merc 9.9?
As for my rigging, I do not have mine hooked to the big motor, but would certainly do so if I spent more time on Lake Michigan or Erie. As it is, I use the 90 when I troll Michigan, since I don't need to slow down so much for trout and salmon as I would for walleyes.
I sit at the stern and use the tiller on Minnesota lakes. It would be more comfortable at the wheel, but it is OK. On inland lakes I cast, drift, and stillfish much more than on the big pond. My bowmount MotorGuide gets a good workout on inland water.
Hope you've got everything in order -- I can imagine you are getting the itch for open water. We've got 20 inches of ice topped by another 20 or so inches of snow on my lake. But, ice fishing has been good and I would not have lasted into my 7th decade if I didn't get along fairly well with winter.
