Hey guys, quick question. I am in the process of rigging my new tuffy. I guide and tournament fish musky. I have always guided from the back, but am tired of the electric steer motors breaking on me. I have used all brands. Do you guys think it is unethical to guide from the front? Just looking for opinions as I personally catch more fish from the back of the boat. Thanks, I would ask on the musky board but we can never seems to agree on anything...Thanks, Ben Remer

Ben,
When guiding for muskie I use a Minn-Kota Vantage off the transom, it gives me a place to hide from those flying baits. I try not to fish when I have muskie clients, unless I'm running the sucker rigs in the fall, but there are always exceptions.

I prefer a guide who fishes. I just think of the guide as the partner for the day. Watching is one of the best ways to learn, and people don't do enough of it. That said, I would not want to be fishing used water all day. As long as you pointed out the best spots, and let me have first crack at them, I wouldn't have a problem with your being in front.
