Try www.cliftond.com The guy who runs this site posts here under Denied. Dean has a good site all about erie with weather links and fishing reports.
Was there 5/2 - 5/4. Fish are definitely there but with the weather we had it was a little tough to get consistent action. We had some success drifting bottom bouncers north of the islands near the Canadian border and trolling north and east of Kelleys. My guess is that if the weather stabilizes, the trolling bite will really pick up. The fish we caught trolling were all fairly high (5'-15') and slower was better for us. I'm not a smallmouth fisherman, but we picked up some very nice fish trolling for walleyes (4-6 lbs.) around Kelleys in 20'-25' of water. Good luck.
thanks for the info will post when I get back rick

Hello, it’s Tuesday, another nice day in paradise. It’s 74 degrees. We finally got rid of that pesky northeast wind for a day. I guess it is supposed to be back this evening and Wednesday, but not too hard though. It is blowing about 5 miles an hour out of the south west right now. We had it a little rough this weekend. The wind was out of the north or northeast for three days. Most of the walleye fishermen that ventured out did well. Several big ones. Wasn’t real good for the perch fishermen. They caught some fish, and the ones they caught were nice, but it was hard for them to find clean water. It was too rough off Marblehead where they had been catching. One guy said he found his up between Sugar Island and North Bass Island. They’ll probably be back to Marblehead today. Yesterday was pretty rough, and some people didn’t go out. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler with a northwest wind about 10 to 20 mph. Then Thursday the wind will switch back to the south and it will warm up again. So far it looks like we will have some warm rain Saturday. Sunday looks good. We are catching walleyes pretty good now up between the islands using bottom bouncers and worm harnesses, either slow trolling them or drifting. Good fishing, and good luck, Don.
