2001 Cabelas Catalog

My spring fever catalog came yesterday. I must have bookmarked about 20 pages already...and that was before I got to page 21! My wife is hiding all the credit cards as we speak.

Of the folks on this board who have already browsed the new catalog, I'd like to ask you a question. What item(s) did you find in the 2001 catalog that caught your eye as being radically different/redesigned/improved from 2000?

All the hype about new designs and new colors catch more fishermen than fish. Lots of new lures look like other brands. New colors are nice but I am sure most people have their favorites.
Products that were interesting were the AC PLUG--I mostly see them only in CA and they are different than the ones in our shops. I liked the lead minnow looking heads by cabelas with the 2 different tail designs. These might be great for jigging deep for big trout.
The minnow jigs are probably the only thing new i will buy along with someother things i need to replace.

Items I picked out. Lowrance X-15, X-16. Minn Kota Autopilots. MotorGuide Excel series trolling motor. A new design in a baitcasting reel eros..eon..or moron.. something like that. New crankbaits I'm going to have to buy. Diawa SS Tournament series spinning reel looks slick. More options in gore-tex guideware. etc. The wish list will be long and the checkbook will be short.:-)

The "Colapsable Outrigger". Basically a 15 foot colapsable pole with an offshore release on the end. I can see using it instead of a planner board in certain situations. Like running a crank up on rip-rap in a river.....

Can't wait, three of us are making a run to Cabela's on Mondy to stock up on fishing gear - like kids in a candy store! Rod holders, Rod covers, Reals, Jigs, Bottom bouncers who knows what all.
My list is getting longer every day!
