I have noticed many good size muskies floating dead this spring up and down the river.. Has anyone else noticed this too? Any ideas as to what is going on with them??

Last weekend we had a tournament on Detroit and one of the guys came in and said he saw two huge muskie float past him within 100 feet of each other. We wondered if someone had a net out and pitched the dead fish. Couldn't think of any other reason for 2 dead fish that close to each other.

Yeah, no kidding.
Saw an absolute monster washed up on shore by the Army Corps of Engineers by Historic Fort Wayne. Looked almost like a friggin' dead body layin there. Went in for a closer look.....yep, a real fresh monster. Would've been a nice catch, maybe it already was.
Ashes to ashes.....

Saw 3 or 4 along Hennepin point Tuesday or Wednesday. The wind had the carcasses pinned on the rocks. I didn't know whether they were muskie or pike. They all looked in the 3' range. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

My brother was fishing yesterday and spotted 4 dead muskies on the river. Apparently there is a disease that the DNR is aware of and they are not sure if its fatal. It is becoming obvious that the disease must be fatal. If you see dead muskie, please report them to the DNR. They have a contact on the Michigan DNR site. Look under fishing issues. Good fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
