I know, this has nothing to do with fishing or hunting but I need some help. Every spring ducks return to my pool in the back yard. no matter what I do, I can't seem to get rid of them. Here are some failed remedies,
1. floating blow-up alligator
2. fake owl
3. cris-crossed heavy string from rail to rail making a web (ducks flew in-between string)
4. tried shooting them with BB rifle (afraid larger caliber would ruin pool)
Ice has thawed and I had 3 ducks in the pool yesterday. they crap everywhere. Help before they invite more of their friends.

shootem and eatem. just kidding. Try dropping an electrical device in the water when they are in there. well maybe not, that might smell kinda bad.

Have you started up the crack lab again? Smell Bad? I think the cabin fever is kicking in up in northern ND!

Drain the pool. Fill in the hole and plant grass.

Whack 'em. Just kidding - get a dog or borrow a dog.

Sounds like a great excuse for a new bird dog to me.

I worked for a pool company over this past summer. Try checking your chlorine level and make sure it is at 3ppm or slightly greater. I found that pools with adequate chlorine levels were visited far less often than pools with lower levels. Another thing you could do is put in chlorine floaters that look like predators (like a decoy of some other bird species) I realize you tried the owl, maybe something else would work?
Also, check your yard for a food source, the ducks will not visit you if they don't find food, shelter or safety in your yard.
Hope this helps,
James

Go catch a 30# muskie and put him in the pool. Might have to filter out a few feathers and body parts but it should take care of the problem. Important safety tip.......don't let small children swim with the musky.
Around the south shore of Lake Erie there is an increasing problem with geese on the local golf courses ( I think the problem is the golf courses) and they have resorted to buying trained australian shepherds to keep the geese off the greens and fairways. This after everything else that is legal proved non effective. Sounds like the new hunting dog idea may be the best.
Good Luck

It is covered, but there's about 18 in. of water on top of the cover to keep the wind from blowing it off.
Sounds like a Daffy and Elmer Fudd episode! LOL :-0 :-0 ;-)
How about wife with big stick?? Or maybe
one for each hand..

Make them walk the plank after clipping their wings and emptying the pool!

Great for those cold spring days. Even better when you have it fresh at your back door. If you don't have the inkling to do that you could live trap them and release them where theres other ducks. However small canapes and duck soup is great.
