Hoping to get out for the first time this year. Has anyone found fish pulling boards on Winnebago? I haven't fished here in years and some help would be great.

Musky,

Keep an eye on lake-link.com.Lots of reports.Sounds like the trolling bite has a wait yet. All the action seems to be on live bait on the reefs. leeches and crawlers and jigs and slip bobbers.

Try the reefs drift or slip bobber with leachs

I've been out in the mud twice now just 2 keepers and 3 small fish to show for it.The mud bite is a couple of weeks off yet.Maybe sooner I'm sure there are some guys getting fish out there but not me.Lots of dead water on the graph.Marked a lot of fish off stevens reef today and as I got farther away less and less on the locator.

The fish are coming out of the river right now. I haven't trolled boards yet but if I did would concentrate in the lake within few miles of the river mouth.

What I can tell you is there are alot of eater fish being caught on the reefs. A friend reported he caught 120 walleyes fishing a tournament yesterday, with only a few going over 15 inches. If you are patient and weed through the small fish you will connect on a few big girls.

If you decide to jig the reef, bring alot of bait!

Talked to a guy at the rec.launch yesterday. He said he was pulling boards from waverly to the light house and picked up some nicer fish.He was pulling #5 shad raps 70ft back.I was out and found some fish off hunters point bait of choice was wally diver 30ft back got a nicer fish about 5lbs(cpr)and 8 others from 12-16" if you do fish the shorelines as I was,get out early and fish high before all the boat traffic sends the fish down.I was done at about 10am.

One other spot I fished last week was as SevenMMM suggested the mouth of the river in Oshkosh. The wind picked up so i decided to troll the 10ft depths and picked up some nicer fish here. Then some inconsiderate jet skier decides to mess things up.
