View Full Version : Lac Seul, Goose Bay Resort area
We're heading up to this area on June 21st.
My dad has fished this area once and we're planning on getting a guide for our first day on the water.
If anyone is willing to share some general information about this area, that would be much appreciated.
Andrea mentioned tha water temp is 61 degrees which suprised me and most people have been getting their fish in the 10ft range.
Thanks guys.

JonM,
I was at Goose Bay from June 7-14. The first thing you need to be aware of is the low water level. Be very careful in areas you are not familiar with and watch your depth finder. The week we were in came we saw one boat that will need a new lower unit and two broken props. Also if you are bringing your own boat you won't be able to launch it at Goose Bay, Andrea will send you to the public launch at Goldpines. We had no problems and I don't want to scare you but better safe than sorry.
The fishing was great. All of the spots Andrea will mark on your map will hold fish. Also your guide should know what is going on. We did well on the sand and points or shorelines with the wind coming in.
We also made two runs to Mckenzie Bay and that was outstanding.
Just a thought, next time post under the Canada forum and I be yopu will get more responses.

We fished out of Evergreen (about 2 miles from Goose Bay) the first week of June. The water is LOW and there were a lot of guys banging rocks. The season is running 3 weeks early and the fish are now likely on their mid-summer pattern. We did very well in McKenzie bay for numbers of bigger fish. It would be advisable to pay a guide to give you a few safe travel routes. If you have a Lowrance GPS, I can share a safe route to McKenzie, it will be almost 20 miles from Goose Bay.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback.
I do have a Lowrance GPS if you still have that route information available.
Did you guys catch any big Pike?

Jon,
Our biggest pike was 38" and it came trolling shad raps. We also caught some nice ones by "accident" jigging for walleyes. Several big ones grabbed our walleyes as we were bringing them in.
The water was too low to get to some of our best pike spots and I think the water is warmer than usual so most of the big ones have moved out of shallow bays. To me is seemed like the pike were in most of the same places we caught walleyes.
I hope this helps.
