A friend of mine is going up next week and was wondering how the bite has been. Are the mayflies hatching? Thanks for any info!

There was a major hatch early last week.
I can't seem to catch a cold on that lake so I cant give you any details on the fishing but will be there sat and sunday trying again.
I'm going to try em after dark this time - will let you know.

Well,
I have not been able to fish Lk Leelanau yet this year, however
I drive the road to the east everyday going to work and the last week
has been a HUGE hatch of mayflies. I mean HUGE. The road is covered the seagulls are chowing and my windshield is covered. I have not seen this large of one in a while. Good luck fishing. If by chance you want to fish a diff walleye lake in the area let me know and I will point you in the right direction.
