View Full Version : Need help with GPS/Sonar
Any good or bad comments on the Lowrance 310,160, or 1600? How are they? Do they have enough pixels? Are their screens large enough? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using a global nav 310 since 97 and i'm very
satisfied with how easy it is to operate and with it's
acuracy.

I have both a 310 and a 1600 and use the 1600 the most. I like both of them better than a handheld only for the size of a screen. It is easy to see as you are running. Also, I am able to run the buttons and scroll through the menus easily on the run.
As far as durability, after 2 seasons, they are still going strong. I personally like having a separate sonar and GPS - more viewing room at the same time and more flexibility, to each his own, though. I do wish that there was a downloadable package that had detailed contours. I felt I wasted my money purchasing some Navionics e-charts only to find limited contour information - I guess I asked the wrong questions prior to purchasing.
I'm happy and I'd run Lowrance products again.
