yes the tr1 is great well worth the money. if you do a lot of trolling it allows the captain to fish also instead of having to steer motor constantly.once you figure the right speed that the fish want you have idle button when you are pulling in fish just hit resume button and you/re back to same speed. and its great for maintaning course also. once again its well worth the money

I agree with River King. It makes a day of trolling much more enjoyable and being able to duplicate the speed you had when hooking fish is also useful. I usually fish with my wife and children. They enjoy the trip and will stay out much longer since we got the TR1. No one has to play autopilot. Now we determine an order for using the remote, since they want to steer now. It holds a course and speed. I have a GPS and Loran but haven't hooked the TR1 to either of them yet. I might do it this year for Erie and try duplicating a successful trolling pass. When Salmon fishing on Lake MI there are usually too many boats to follow a course that closely. You usually have to jog around boats on each pass. I would definitely buy it again and agree that it is well worth the investment.

Goldie, Here is something no one else stated... The big benifit to me is, when I am by myself it's almost impossable to set up your trolling rods & put on the boards. Since I got the TR-1, I can do all by myself & dont have to worry about running the kicker... it runs itself while I get the lines out..almost impossable to do without help,.., Thank you TR-1..
I've used mine for a season now and cannot see being without it.. Hope this helps..P.S. Look into the tachometer thats available for the kicker thru TR-1.. makes it VERY EASY to get back to the exact speed that you were catching fish at.. Tight Lines, Bob Ritt

does the TR-1 have throttle control? if so how is it controlled?is it all in one hand?

Delgue, Yes,it has throttle control. It is all in a remote control that is small. One of the TR-1 best features is,say you're trolling along and "BAMB" you got a fish on! you start reeling in and you think he's a big'in so you hit your idle resume button, that will take your motor down to a idle. Once the fish is in the net you hit the idle resume button and what do you know? you're back at the same EXACT speed that you was going when you caught that bigin!!!! Pretty AWESOME is'nt it ??? Send me an email and I will send you a video to get a better look at this Awesome tool that they call the TR-1.

I have had my TR1 mounted on a Yamaha Hi Thrust for years now. It is all they say it is and the serviec is even better. No other piece of equipment has brought this much enjoyment and harmony to a fishing family with children.

TR-1 IS THIS UNIT ELECTRIC? OR DOES IT USE YOUR MOTOR ?

It is electric with a hydraulic cylinder that positions your motor. There is an electronic controller, gyroscope, and fluxgate compass. You can track compass headings or slave it to your GPS/Loran. Go to www.nautamatic.com for more information.
