going there this week end, first time this year. Where should I start, and what to start with?

Best info to be had is to go to "fishthelake.com". I fished north end this weekend by Weathwood. We're fishing smallmouths and had some fun on a couple of shallow rock piles . Find rocks, smallies are close. We caught most of ours on leeches this w/e but brown twister tails with metal flake worked two weeks ago. There was a least one muskie caught Saturday that I know of by Wealthwood also. About 40". DRN creel guys were saying that the walleye bite on North end was slow and we didn't see any caught or catch any either. I don't have boat enough to venture too far out so I not any help with the mud flats, etc. Good luck .

i was on wille lacs a week before the 4th and the week of the 4th. we went out of the ramp just south of myr mar (public ramp). fished north toward myr mar in 6 to 10 ft of water. there were rocks all over. we caught smallies on #5 shad raps and the new cyberflex tubes.love those cyberflex tubes, 1/8 to 3/16 oz weights. most came on the raps, tubes ran a close second. caught a 4/8 and several 3lb to 3and a half. had a ball , took lots of pictures and had a ball, they are still there swimming. the grand kid got his FIRST smallmouth, he is still has a grin on his face. good luck to you.
