Live to fish, fish to live!
Wondering if anyone has fished Lonetree recently. Any info would be great.

I was out at Lonetree twice last weekend and again this morning. The walleye have slowed down a lot from what I heard about 3 weeks ago (which I missed). What few walleye I have landed have all been in 14" range, with one nice 18-20" that got off just as I got it to the surface. I did pick up a decent 18" wiper this morning, and I have seen a few others taken, but no one else seems to have much on the stringer lately. Boyd has been really slow too, so I may try Boedecker tomorrow to see if anything is happening there (it looks like it's full now too). Good luck

Dan,
I went out Wed. eve. I watched a fella pull in several on the east side, in about 10-13ft. I asked him(i also seen) what they were biting on. Nothing special, the standard harness and/or a jighead with a curly tail on, both with worms. I duplicated, but no avail. The problem was those long, spaghetti weeds(3-4 footer's) which the fish were tight to. What ever I tried(three way with a long lead to a bell sinker, etc.) I couldn't pass the lure through without getting weeds. After 45 minutes I moved on. I wish I knew exactly how he was doing it. And if you care, the wipers are chasing the shad blooms, boils everywhere. Good luck.

Thanks Orion and Matt. I fished it this morning till about 11:30 and could not find them. Then went to Standley and only picked up 1. Guess things are slowing down a bit. So much for a good stable weather pattern making for good Eye fishing ,don't you know!
