Erie, PA (REPORT) Walnut Creek

Fished monday and tuesday and boy did we clean house both days. 2 days and limited both days! We fished the same area on Tuesday and cleaned up again! 10 fish by 10:30 then took 3 hours to get the last 2.
We were fishing in an area 15 miles NW out of walnut creek, watermellon and that tropical color killed em on the size 0 dipsys way back. On tuesday the tropical color did nothing!

I usually am around 68 a bit, but if it is sounding like a family reunion on there im usually on 69 or 73. Sometimes guys are just out there having a good old BS session i dont wana hear.

Walnut creek is way west of North East, it is the farthest west PA Fish and Boat Commission launch in PA. And if your goin to venture from north east, youd better start early, ive been lettin rods out at 6am. Ive been making the run around 430am and gettin to my spots around 6ish and like the last trip done at 130! I Had 10 fish in the boat by 1030 on tuesday and it too another 2 hrs for the last 2 to finally come.

I had buddies fishing round me that werent pickin up fish like i was for whatever reasons, my advice would be to invest in some size 0 dipsy divers and some quality worm harnesses or stinger spoons.

If i were you guys i would make the trip as much as possible this year has been phenominal so far, im nearing tripple digits for Erie already, this has been the best year we have had since 1998. Havent been pullin many erie monsters but all the fish have been like 20-27in. I think we had on around 9lbs on board already, a few 8lb fish and a couple 7s. The fish definatly moved in this year.

Check the shallower breaks to deep waters, I have been fishing between 60-73 ft the past few weeks. Dont be afraid to run into the waves, tuesday 85% of the fish came when we were running into the 3 footers, was not an easy task. Experiment with colors and depths of your dipsys, the fish move deeper as the day gets brighter.

Give a call for CarpetBagger most likely on 68 or 69. Hopin next week was as productive as the last.
