Has anybody tried 30-35 foot of water for walleye, off Ashtabula or Geneva? Just kind of curious, considering they're hitting them from Walnut access to the Ohio line. We did good there two weeks ago, 16 walleye in the boat! Where has the best action been, in 70-71 foot of water?

Me too with the same results. But I am comming to believe there is a sizeable population of local walleye. I tried to find them in the 30 ft range around memorial day I think I found two fish in 8hrs of trolling. I found them in good numbers in mid june at 50ft. They have dispersed into deeper waters now. Does any body know where to find these fish in May

Yeah that is what i heard. I was up yesterday and only got 3 eyes a 5#,7# and 2# got a few perch as well. Oh cant leave out those farm animals to many to count. We fished 7 mile north of geneva but most of the guys were 15 to 22 miles out but it was the first time out since the boat was in the shop. For us medium dipsy's at 1.5 at a 150 back with confusion stingers and black and purple harness worked. I marked alot of fish up around 20ft figured they were stealhead but after all those storms the eye's could be up higher. We didn't maker them until about quiting time for us so i didn't even try.

I have been marking those fish at 20 ft all summer and probably have 100 bait/hours at that depth. All I got was one 15in walleye targeting those marks. The only sonar mark that gets me excited any more is deep bait balls below 40 ft. If I see these I expect fish. Even numerous big fish marks doesn't seem to mean I'll be putting anything in the boat soon.
